COOKS HILL

Tucked within the tight-knit grain of Newcastle’s Cooks Hill, this reimagined terrace opens out to a series of gardens that unfold across three inner-city blocks. What begins as a modest heritage dwelling extends into a richly layered landscape—part domestic retreat, part urban oasis. The design navigates boundaries both physical and conceptual, blurring the line between house and garden, private and public, built and planted. With each courtyard, grove, and passage, the site reveals itself as a quietly ambitious gesture in urban liveability.
