We begin by immersing ourselves in the project scope and client requirements, and carefully analysing the brief. Through this initial phase, we develop sketch plans and progressively refine material choices and planting concepts. Our approach is characterised by a systematic consideration of site attributes, architectural context, and the unique lifestyle and aesthetic preferences of our clients.tion text goes here

Ethos
At EBLA, we view landscapes as living systems—shaped by time, people, and place. A landscape is never static. It shifts, settles, and evolves. We design with this in mind, embracing the unfinished, the seasonal, and the slow unfolding of spaces over time.
Our work is grounded in the belief that landscapes can improve how we live. From private gardens to community spaces, we shape environments that invite connection, support wellbeing, and foster a deeper relationship with the natural world. We see each project as an opportunity to create something lasting—thoughtful spaces that respond to their context and resonate with those who use them.
We work with clients who value design as a long-term investment. Whether collaborating with individuals, institutions, or developers, we are drawn to shared values: care for place, clarity of purpose, and an appreciation for the environmental and cultural layers that shape every site. Together, we aim to create landscapes that endure—functionally, emotionally, and ecologically.
Evan Black
Evan entered the field of landscape architecture in 2006 after completing his degree at UNSW. His early experience spanned both design and on-site implementation, grounding his practice in a clear understanding of how landscapes are made—and how they endure.
He has since worked across a broad range of project types, from private gardens to the public domain, often in collaboration with developers, design teams, and government agencies. His portfolio includes work with Stockland, Frasers Property, National Parks & Wildlife, and the Department of Planning & Environment.
Evan’s approach is shaped by a commitment to purposeful, context-led design. He sees landscape as a framework for connection—between people, place, and ecology. Whether shaping a courtyard or a larger urban interface, his focus is on creating spaces that are thoughtful, resilient, and contribute meaningfully to the lives of those who use them.
