The landscape for Spencer Street reimagines a hard, underused frontage as a softer and more welcoming garden edge. The existing Ulmus street tree is retained as a familiar anchor, with new layered planting introduced to settle the building into its residential setting.
Along Spencer Street, a renewed canopy and a calm, native understorey create a greener, more continuous street presence. Planting is arranged to gently soften built elements and bring a sense of rhythm and scale back to the footpath.
The Hamilton Street side takes on a more immersive character. Groundcovers, climbers and taller species are used to drape, climb and gradually fold the architecture into the landscape, allowing the garden to mature and deepen over time.
Private ground level spaces are shaped through generous planting and vertical structure, offering shade, softness and privacy while contributing to the overall sense of a gardenled interface.
Across the site, the planting strategy is layered, climate responsive and grounded in place. The intention is simple: to create a landscape that enriches daily experience and helps the building sit comfortably within its streetscape.
